If you’ve ever watched “Chelsea Lately” and laughed out loud (which I do all the time) then you will love the hilarious collection of antics that is the reality of Chelsea Handler’s life. She’s funny, quirky and out there, to say the least.

Chelsea Handler, a comedienne who hosts “Chelsea Lately,” a late night comedy talk show on E!, has written a couple of books examining her life and sharing crazy memories and events from over the years. One of her books, “Are You There, Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea,” was a No. 1 New York Times bestseller and “Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang” continues in the same tradition. “Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang” is a collection of humorous personal stories and essays written by Chelsea Handler herself. In this book, she takes you on a journey through the past of her zany life from which she gets all of her standup material. If you’re familiar with Handler’s unique brand of humor, it is certain you can hear her distinct voice coming through in each story as if she’s telling it in person.

The stories can be hilariously funny, and her trademark dry humor is noticeably expressed on every page. She uses her silly phrases and words throughout the chapters adding some life to the chapters, expressing her witty style of talking. If you’re not familiar with her show or her comedy in general it may be difficult to describe the type of humor in “Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang,” but to sum it up, Handler is known for shamelessly playing pranks on her friends and coworkers, making mistakes with men, insulting her loved ones, and making fun of herself and, most of all, her family. The chapters in “Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang” cover the territory from her seemingly dysfunctional childhood to more recent events such as drunken encounters on a vacation in the Turks and Caicos and an elaborate trick played on her boyfriend.

Each story pulls you in and makes you want to keep reading what craziness could happen next. As the book goes on, you wonder how anything crazier could happen after what was just read but believe me, she manages to one-up herself each time. The events cover all aspects of her life from personal stories, to behind the scenes at “Chelsea Lately.” On an entertainment level, this is definitely one of the most amusing books I’ve read in the past couple years. This holiday season, relax and unwind with this hilarious trip down the memory lane of Handler’s life. If you or a loved one is looking for a good laugh and looking for some recommendations, this book surely will not disappoint.
