America should always be a place where a person who is willing to work hard has a fair shot to get ahead and have success in life, no matter his or her background. People like Tina Reyes, from Flint, who earned the grades that got her accepted into one of our top Michigan universities. When she graduates this summer she will be the first person from her family to achieve that important milestone.

New Student Survival Guide: Helpful tips for incoming freshmen

FAFSA? Loans? Registration? Credit hours? The college vocabulary is practically a foreign language for any incoming freshman, but with the guidance of a college-educated mom, dad, older sibling, etc. it can be a smoother transition. Unfortunately, for the new students without guidance, the struggle is real.

Millennial debt crisis no laughing matter

Although the student debt crisis that has engulfed the millennial generation has been well documented, it warrants further attention and conversation.
