Several Wayne State coaches gathered at Tony V’s Tavern in Midtown Sept. 9 for the Fall Coaches Series to discuss their expectations and goals for the fall athletics season.
Earlier this year, Tim Koth became the new head coach of the Wayne State women’s volleyball team.
The women’s volleyball team went 1-3 last weekend at the Tritons Classic in St. Louis as they kicked off its 2011 campaign.
The Wayne State volleyball team’s season came to an end Nov. 11 with a 3-1 loss to Ferris State in the quarterfinals of the GLIAC Tournament.

*DETROIT* -- The Wayne State Volleyball team swept their final three matches of the season, defeating Findlay, Michigan Tech, and Northern Michigan last week. The Warriors (15-11, 13-6 GLIAC) finished the season with six straight victories and will have homecourt advantage in the GLIAC Tournament Quarterfinals.
The WSU Volleyball Team has won 10 GLIAC games for the first time since 1999. The team is currently tied with Ferris State and Northwood for the third best record in the conference.
The Wayne State volleyball team took both games on the road this past weekend, scoring wins over Ashland and Lake Erie. The Warriors have won three in a row and are tied for the third-best record in the GLIAC.

*DETROIT* -- The Wayne State volleyball team was back home for the first time in three weeks, looking to get back on the winning side after four consecutive losses. The Warriors split two matches over the weekend, losing to Tiffin on Friday night, and defeating Ohio Dominican on Sunday afternoon.
The Wayne State women’s volleyball team lost all three games over the weekend as apart of the GLVC/GLIAC Crossover Tournament in Aurora, Ill. WSU (9-10, 7-5 GLIAC) lost to Lewis, Southern Indiana and Missouri S&T, dropping their overall record below .500.
The Wayne State women’s volleyball team picked up another split this weekend on the road. The Warriors defeated Lake Superior State 3-1 on Friday night, but fell short at Northwood on Saturday afternoon, 3-2.
The Wayne State women’s volleyball team is regrouping after a disappointing split last weekend, including a shutout loss to conference-leading Hillsdale.
WSU will host the 2010 GLIAC Men's Golf Championship tournament Oct. 3 and 4 at the Grosse Ile Golf & Country Club. Wayne State finished third in the tournament last year in Marquette.
Wayne State's Alison Allen is hitting .408 with eight home runs and 27 RBIs in 51 games.
