A navy blue 2009 Dodge Ram pickup truck caught fire on Jan. 10 around 11:15 a.m. at the corner of General Lectures and the Anthony Wayne Apartments construction site facing Manoogian Hall.

The city police and fire departments arrived at the scene shortly after, completely extinguishing the fire by 12:15 p.m.

According to a police report, the cause of the fire is unknown, but it is believed to be accidental since the truck belonged to contractors working on construction and maintenance at Wayne State’s campus.

The hour-long flames severely damaged the truck and caused heavy traffic amid students departing from Manoogian and General Lectures. No injuries were reported.
