A janitor, who was also a student, at Wayne State has died from complications with the coronavirus, President M. Roy Wilson said in an email.

Darrin Adams worked mostly in Alex Manoogian Hall and has been with WSU for six years. He was studying to get his degree in sociology.

"He was one of us, and we all grieve his loss," Wilson said. "Darrin leaves behind family and friends, and we keep them in our thoughts as they deal with this unexpected loss."

As of Saturday morning, there are 12,744 COVID-19 cases and 479 deaths in Michigan.
