Thousands of protesters gathered in the McNamara terminal at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport on Jan. 29 to protest President Donald Trump's "Muslim ban" that has resulted in detainments across the country.
The ban was an executive order from Trump, which prohibits citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the U.S. It also suspended the U.S. refugee system for 120 days.
The protest was organized by Women's March on Washington - Michigan and the Michigan Muslim Community Council.
"We are angry at the recent executive order and reports that people are being detained at airports, including Detroit," the event description said.
