Wayne State's Indian Students Association put on Jashan: The Spirit of the Circus, displaying tradition Indian dances like Bollywood, Bhangra, Filmi and Raas to show the fundamentals of true Indian Celebration.

Proceeds from the event went to the Nanhi Kali organization with a mission of helping underprivileged girls in India receive an education.

President of ISA Siri Sarvepalli said, "I hope our show gives people a better idea of what the Indian heritage really involves and creates an interest in exploring other cultures that may be very different from an individual's own culture."
