An 18-year-old female student reported she was the victim of a rape while inside her on-campus residential hall on Nov. 3 at approximately 7:30 p.m.
The student said she met an unknown male on Tinder, according to an email sent out to the WSU community by the WSU Police Department. The student invited the male to her residential hall where consensual sex was discussed. However, she told the male that she did not wish to engage in any sexual activity at that time.
The student told the police that the male then forced her to engage in non-consensual sexual activity.
WSUPD said “students are strongly advised to use extra caution with persons you have just met, either on social media, adult dating sites or even in person in social settings, as you do not know that persons real intentions” in an email sent out to the WSU community.
The suspect is described as a black male about 20 years old, 6'2" tall, athletic build, with a large tattoo on his chest who identified himself as “Leon Miller.”
The student told the police the suspect is not a WSU student.
The student has advised WSUPD officers that she does not wish to prosecute this person if he can be positively identified.
